Sucheta Bhatt's Biography

Sucheta Bhatt, Director of Genetics, Illumina Inc.

Dr. Sucheta Bhatt joined Illumina, Inc. in September 2012 as Director, Genetics. Before that she was at Genzyme Genetics (now Integrated Genetics) where she was Medical Director, and Director of Prenatal Diagnosis Center responsible for the quality of testing, counseling and medical care provided by all clinical staff members, including satellites. In addition, she served in a variety of senior positions over her almost twenty year tenure. She received her medical degree from University of Bombay, India and did her residency in Pediatrics and a fellowship in Genetics from UCLA School of Medicine in Los Angeles.
At Illumina, she is part of the Reproductive and Genetic Health Division, and is integrally involved with Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing among other things.

When she is not working, she loves to read and travel to explore various cultures
