Nicholas Hannan, Assistant Professor, University of Nottingham

Nicholas Hannan is an assistant professor in translational stem cell biology at the University of Nottingham. Nick’s research is focused on developmental and disease modelling platforms using stem cell derived endoderm lineages, including hepatocytes (Nature Protocols, 2013), cholangiocytes (Nature Biotechnology 2015; Nature Medicine 2017), intestinal epithelium (Cell Stem Cell 2013; Infection and Immunity, 2015), pancreas (Diabetlogia, 2012), foregut (Cell Stem Cell Reports 2013) and lung (Stem Cells & Development 2015).

Nick’s research findings have formed the basis of 5 licensed patents and he is a technology founder of DefiniGen Ltd, a successful spinout from the University of Cambridge that provides stem cell derived cells for research.
