Hsuan-Yu Leu is a Researcher in the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Utah. His research has been focused on the synthesis of "smart" polymer hydrogels used as recognition elements in biosensors and the sensing mechanisms development for the point-of-care diagnostics.

Results will be presented for a novel microfluidics device utilizing molecular-imprinted thrombin-responsive hydrogels that is a promising point-of-use sensor for biomedical settings. The sensor is selective, uses a small sample size, and provides a rapid response.
