Peter Morse's Biography

Peter Morse, Senior Scientist, Pfizer

Peter received his PhD in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, under the supervision of Professor David Nicewicz. He then carried out postdoctoral research in the laboratory of Professor Timothy F. Jamison at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, focusing on methods for handling unstable intermediates in continuous flow. In 2017, Peter joined the synthesis technology group at Pfizer. There, he has worked on projects in the areas of photoredox catalysis and continuous flow chemistry in support of drug discovery.

While flow chemistry is becoming increasingly accepted as a valuable tool for large-scale chemical reactions, finding opportunities to successfully utilize it earlier in medicinal chemistry projects can be challenging. This talk covers examples of work from our group where we have sought to understand how best flow can be used to help accelerate medicinal chemistry projects and impact deliveries, while also keeping an eye towards future scalability.
