Karl Heinz Hecker's Biography

Karl Heinz Hecker, Vice President of Product Development, Inflammatix, Inc.

Dr. Hecker joined the Inflammatix team in October 2018 as Vice President of Product Development. Prior to joining Inflammatix he held the position of Vice President of Product Development at Rubicon Genomics (acquired by Takara Bio USA) where he and his team developed products for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS). During his career in industry, while working at Transgenomic, Invitrogen, PerkinElmer, Quidel Corporation, and HTG Molecular, Dr. Hecker and his teams developed well over one hundred products for the life sciences and diagnostics market. Prior to transitioning to industry Dr. Hecker conducted five years of postdoctoral research in molecular immunology at the Schepens Eye Research Institute/Harvard Medical School and at Florida State University. Dr. Hecker holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry/molecular biology from Florida State University, a Master of Science degree in chemistry from Eastern Illinois University, as well as Master and Bachelor of Science degrees in chemistry from Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany.
