Yen-Ting Tung's Biography



Yen-Ting Tung, Research Fellow, National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS)

Dr. Tung is a postdoctoral fellow in National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS), National Institutes of Health. His study mainly focuses on developing 3D vascularized brain models by bioprinting for high throughput screening and won the NIH Fellows Award for Research Excellence (FARE) in 2019. Dr. Tung completed a B.S. in department of Biomedical Science and Environmental Biology at Kaohsiung Medical University, Taiwan. He then earned his M.S. and ph.D. in department of Life Science and program of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine at National Chung Hsing university, Taiwan. His Ph.D. study was focused on developing a microvascular network with customized pattern by microfabrication of biodegradable scaffolds.

A 3D bioprinted human neurovascular unit (NVU) was developed in a 96-multiwell plate format for using as a tissue-in-a-well assay platform for high through-put screening.
