He is currently appointed as postdoctoral fellow in Institute for Frontier Life and Medical Sciences, Kyoto University (PI: Prof. Taiji Adachi). After he graduated with a B.Eng. in Mechanical engineering (Biomedical) from the University of Sydney in 2010, he received MS and PhD in Mechanical engineering from the University of Tokyo (Advisor: Prof. Takashi Ushida & Assoc. Prof. Katsuko Furukawa), in 2014 and 2017, respectively. His research interest includes 3D in vitro culture, cellular biomechanics, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine. In 2019, he was awarded the Yamaguchi Medal by Asian-Pacific Association for Biomechanics.
