Zackary Wayne Tiedeman's Biography

Zackary Wayne Tiedeman, Application Specialist, Optics11Life

Zackary Tiedeman is an Applications Engineer with Optics11Life, specializing in 3D models for systems biology. He holds a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Delaware, followed by academic research experience at the same institute developing 3D hydrogel models for organoid vasculature. Zackary leads the US application team at Optics11Life to investigate the mechanical properties of 3D cell culture models, complex organoids and spheroids. At Optics11Life, he is driving the development of a nanoindentation platform, called the Pavone, for high-throughput mechanical screening with advanced microscopy and temperature/humidity/CO2 control in physiological conditions. Over 300 research publications have been published with this technology, for a wide range of applications in the 3D cell culture, organ-on-a-chip and regenerative medicine disciplines.
