Evan Rosen's Biography



Evan Rosen, Principal Investigator, Harvard University

Dr. Evan Rosen received his medical degree and a Ph.D in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Michigan in 1994. He performed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and fellowship training in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Massachusetts General Hospital. This was followed by post-doctoral research training in Bruce Spiegelman’s lab at the Dan-Farber Cancer Institute. Since 2001, Dr. Rosen has run his own laboratory at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he studies the transcriptional and epigenetic basis of adipocyte differentiation, physiology, and metabolic disease. He is also an Associate Member at the Broad Institute.

This talk will discuss how epigenetic mechanisms affect the differentiation and physiology of metabolic tissues, with an emphasis on adipose tissue, and will further explore a role for epigenetics in metabolic diseases like obesity and type 2 diabetes.
