Metodi Metodiev's Biography



Metodi Metodiev, Biological Safety Officer, University of Essex

Dr Metodiev has more than 20 years research experience in the area of protein biochemistry and proteomics. He was educated in Bulgaria, has worked in South Africa and the USA, and is now holding an academic tenure at University of Essex, UK where he leads the Proteomics Unit and teaches biotechnology, cancer biology and cell biology courses. He conducts research in cell signalling, and proteomics which has been published in Science, PNAS, Journal of Cell Biology, Clinical Cancer Research, and leading American and European proteomics journals. His research is funded by grants from NIH, NERC and British and American Cancer charities.
