Douglas Ruden's Biography



Douglas Ruden, Director of Epigenomics, Wayne State University

Douglas Ruden is the Director of Epigenomics at Wayne State University. He received his undergraduate training at Caltech, his PhD at Harvard, and his postdoctoral training at the Max Planck Institute in Goettingen, Germany. His interests are in epigenetic regulation during development in Drosophila and humans. He is a member of the Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and the C. S. Mott Center for Human Growth and Development from Wayne State University.

We show that hydroxymethylcytosine levels increase under oxidative stress conditions within 24 hours and propose a model for how TET is regulated by mitochondrial metabolism.
