SELECTBIO Conferences Advances in qPCR Europe

's Biography

, ,

Jo Vandesompele is professor in Functional Cancer Genomics and Applied Bioinformatics at Ghent University, Belgium since 2007. He is author of more than 150 scientific articles in
international journals, including some pioneering publications in the domain of quantitative PCR. The main themes of his research are the functional exploration of non-coding RNA in cancer and the development of high-throughput qPCR technologies. Because of his internationally recognized expertise in the qPCR domain, Jo is regularly invited as speaker at international conferences and workshops. Jo Vandesompele is also co-founder of Biogazelle, a real-time PCR company providing a complete solution for qPCR (wet lab service, data-analysis software and training courses). He is also one of the founders of the RDML consortium to promote the RDML real-time PCR data exchange format, and co-author on the MIQE guidelines.
