Louis Yuge's Biography

Louis Yuge, Professor & Main Director, Space Regenerative Medical Center, Hiroshima University

Prof. Louis Yuge obtained academic B.S., M.S., Dr.Med.Sc., and PhD. degrees in Histology and Cell Biology from the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at Hiroshima University (Japan) in 2000. He is currently a Professor in the Division of Bio-Environment Adaptation Sciences, Graduate School of Biomedical & Health Sciences at Hiroshima University. He is also the director of the Space Regenerative Medical Center. He is also a director of Space Bio- Laboratories Co. Ltd., a university venture company SBL (Space Bio-Laboratories Y.K.: http://www.spacebio-lab.com/). He was appointed as a member of the advisory board of six NASA Kennedy Space Centers around the world, and was appointed as the Center for Space Regenerative Medicine at Hiroshima University. Currently, he is the representative director of the Japanese Society for Regenerative Medicine and Rehabilitation. He has published over 100 research papers, reviews and book chapters mostly in the area of cellular response in physical environments, Space medicine, Regenerative medicine and Rehabilitation medicine.
