Poly(amidoamine)s (PAAs) are biodegradable tert-amine polymers obtained by polyaddition of amines to bisacrylamides. Recently, it has been found that some highly biocompatible amphoteric PAAs are endowed with strong antiviral activity and, in addition, give non-covalent adducts with primaquine and chloroquine whose antimalarial activity is dramatically higher than that of the free drugs.
