Manu De Rycker's Biography

Manu De Rycker, Team Leader, University of Dundee

Manu De Rycker is Team Leader for Neglected Diseases in the Drug Discovery Unit at the University of Dundee. He obtained his degree in biotechnological engineering from the University of Ghent, Belgium in 1998 and received a PhD in Molecular Genetics from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio, USA in 2005. Following his PhD, Manu spent four years in Peter Parker’s group at Lincoln’s Inn Fields laboratories (CRUK), London developing high-content screening assays for cell migration and studying Protein Kinase C function. Manu then moved to the Drug Discovery Unit to develop high-content screening assays for intracellular parasites. In his current role Manu oversees all kinetoplastid parasite phenotypic screening at the Drug Discovery Unit.
