Joakim Lundeberg's Biography

Joakim Lundeberg, Professor, KTH Royal Institute of Technology

Joakim Lundeberg received a professorship in Molecular Biotechnology 2000 at KTH - Royal Institute of Technology. Today he heads the division of Gene Technology and he is also the director of the National Genomics Infrastructure at Science for Life Laboratory, the national effort for massive parallel sequencing. The research group of Professor Lundeberg is involved in technology development for DNA/RNA analysis. In particular, solid-phase technology is a core area for method development in combination with emulsion technology, single cell analysis, whole transcriptome and genome approaches, and nanopore technology. The set of new technologies is often used in interdisciplinary research programmes such as in cancer, stem cell and plant biology. Currently the group is developing novel single cell strategies to map gene expression patterns in brain, cancer and other tissue types in collaboration with Prof Jonas Frisén at the Karolinska Institute.
