Kazuyoshi Nakabe's Biography



Kazuyoshi Nakabe, Professor, Kyoto University

Kazu Nakabe graduated from Kyoto University in 1981, and received the Master Degree of Engineering from Kyoto University in 1983 and the Doctor Degree of Engineering from Osaka University in 1991. He is a Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Science, Kyoto University since 2006 after working at Osaka University as an Assistant Professor, Kyoto University as an Associate Professor, and Osaka Prefecture University as a Professor. His current interests include the measurement, control, and simulation on biological fluid flows, functional fluid heat transfer, heat exchanger, jet mixing and alcoholic fuel reforming reactions.

Effective methods to detect a difference in the deformability of red blood cell and sort the cells into two destinations are proposed and applied in micro-fluidic experiments using two types of electrodes carefully designed and mounted on a microchannel surface.
