Frank Emmrich, Director, TRM Leipzig

Frank Emmrich is professor and chairman of the department of clinical immunology of the University of Leipzig and director of the Institute for Clinical Immunology. Further, he is head of the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology (IZI) Leipzig and Director of the Translational Centre for Regenerative Medicine (TRM) Leipzig. He is member of numerous scientific societies, advisory boards and project adviser for various research funding organizations including the German research association (DFG) and the federal ministry for education and research (BMBF). He is member of the German Ethics Council. Fields of scientific interest: immunomodulation and immunotherapy, transplantation, in particular bone marrow and stem cell transplantation, T cell and macrophage activation, intracellular signal transduction in lymphocytes, immunodiagnostics and treatment of autoimmune diseases, cell therapy.
