Anne O'Kearney-McMullan, APS for Continuous Processing, AstraZeneca International

Having completed a BSc in UCC (University College Cork), Ireland, Anne joined ICI as a research chemist. Having completed 7 years in research she then joined the Process Development department where she was involved in both early phase route design and development activities as well as late stage clinical manufacture. As flow chemistry came to prominence she took on responsibility to see if continuous processing offered any manufacturing advantages. For the last five years Anne has been leading both the development and manufacture of a number of AstraZeneca API intermediates using flow chemistry.
