Paul Burridge's Biography

Paul Burridge, Researcher, Stanford University School of Medicine

Dr. Burridge holds a PhD in human stem cell biology from the University of Nottingham supervised by Prof. Lorraine Young and Prof. Chris Denning (University of Nottingham, Wolfson Centre for Stem Cells, Tissue Engineering and Mathematical Modelling) and Prof. Roger Patient (Oxford University, Weatherall Institute for Molecular Medicine) with a thesis entitles: Improving the mesodermal differentiation potential of human embryonic stem cells. In 2008 Dr. Burridge became a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Dr. Elias Zambidis’ lab (Institute for Cell Engineering), working on cardiac differentiation of non-viral human induced pluripotent stem cells, receiving a Maryland Stem Cell Research Fund Fellowship in 2009. In 2011 Dr. Burridge joined Dr. Joseph Wu's lab at Stanford University School of Medicine continuing his work on hiPSC cardiac differentiation and applications in cardiotoxicity testing and engraftment.
