Steven Okino's Biography

Steven Okino, Staff Scientist, Bio-Rad Laboratories

Steven Okino is a Staff Scientist in the Gene Expression Division at Bio-Rad Laboratories. He is involved in developing novel reagents for the analysis of gene expression in chromatin. Dr. Okino received his Ph.D. from UC San Diego for work analyzing inducible gene expression in mice. His post-doctoral work at Stanford University studied communication between enhancers and promoters in mammalian chromatin. He later went on to study epigenetic changes associated with prostate cancer progression at the San Francisco VA Medical Center. He is an author of over 25 peer-reviewed manuscripts.
