Shidong Jia's Biography

Shidong Jia, Scientist, Genentech Inc

Dr. Shidong Jia is a Scientist in the Oncology Biomarker Development group at Genentech. Prior to this, he was a Lab Head conducting oncology drug discovery at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research, in Cambridge. Dr. Jia was recognized among the first to identify PIK3CB as a novel drug target for PTEN-deficient tumors (Nature 2008). At Genentech, Dr. Jia is developing novel “game-changing” technologies that have the potential to considerably improve biomarker assessment in the clinic. Currently, his lab is pursuing an "omic"-based, integrated research to decipher the complex biomarker questions underlying tumor initiation/progression, therapeutic response, and patient stratification.
