Frederik Fritzsch's Biography

Frederik Fritzsch, Researcher, TU Dortmund University

Dipl.-Ing. Frederik S. O. Fritzsch studied Bioengineering at the Department of Biochemical and Chemical Engineering at the TU Dortmund University where he is currently a PhD student at the Laboratory of Chemical Biotechnology and is as well working in the Leibniz Graduate School—Systems Biology Lab-on-a-Chip (S-BLOC) at the Leibniz Institute of Analytical Sciences - ISAS - e.V., Dortmund, Germany. During his PhD he used his engineering background to developed microchip technologies for single cell analysis. Recently he developed nDEP chips for the contactless isolation, cultivation and single cell analysis of industrial relevant bacteria. Applying these devices, he is currently working on the analysis of single bacterium responses to controlled changes in its microenvironment.
