Claire Stanley's Biography

Claire Stanley, Postdoctoral Research Associate, ETH Zurich

Dr. Claire Stanley is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the deMello Group at the Institute for Chemical and Bioengineering, ETH Zürich. She gained a 1st Class Honours degree in Chemistry from Durham University in 2006, where she was awarded the Michael Western Scholarship. She then moved to Imperial College London and obtained an MRes in Protein and Membrane Chemical Biology (2007) and a PhD in Chemistry (2011). Whilst at Imperial, she was awarded the Sir Alan Fersht Prize for producing the best overall Masters thesis (2007) and a prestigious scholarship from the Society of the Chemical Industry (2008-2010). Currently, her research interests centre on developing microfluidic technologies for studying interactions between fungi and microorganisms, as well as for controlling the microenvironment of plant roots.
