Adam Rutherford's Biography

Adam Rutherford, Science Writer & Broadcaster, The Guardian

Dr Adam Rutherford is a science writer and broadcaster. He has a degree in evolutionary biology and a PhD in genetics.

He is an editor at the science journal Nature and also writes for the The Guardian, where he briefly held the record for the most commented on article ever. Mostly Adam writes about science, religion and culture but has been known to write about films and games, about which he is a geek.

As a science writer, he covers all fields, specializes in evolution and human biology, but struggles with quantum physics.

Adam has made Men In White for Channel 4, Genome for BBC 4 and has appeared on The Culture Show, June 2010, BBC 2. He has also contributed to a number of radio documentaries for Radio 4.

Adam is opinionated, at times controversial, witty and cursed with being right, mostly. He is incredibly well-informed but wears it lightly.

Adam lives in Hackney in London with his partner and two young children.
