Ainara Cano's Biography

Ainara Cano, Research Scientist, One Way Liver (OWL)

Ainara gained her doctorate in the Group “Lipids and Liver” from the University of the Basque Country. Her research is focused on unraveling the physiopathological mechanisms that underlie nonalcoholic fatty-liver disease (NAFLD). At present, she is a researcher in the Biotech Company One Way Liver (OWL), Biscay Science and Technology Park, Spain. The goal that pursues OWL is to find diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers for a variety of liver diseases, such as NAFLD, liver fibrosis and liver cancer and a number of neurological disorders. This is achieved by means of metabolite UPLC-MS analyses and bioinformatics in a plethora of biological materials.
