Xavier Casadevall's Biography

Xavier Casadevall, Senior Scientist, ETH Zürich

Dr. Xavier Casadevall i Solvas is a Senior Scientist in the deMello Group at ETH Zurich where he works in the development of microfluidic platforms for single-cell and small organism assays. Xevi got his B.S. in Chemical Engineering in 2002 from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. After 2 years in Industry as an Engineer, he joined the BioMEMS lab at the University of California - Irvine where he received is PhD in 2009 under the supervision of Prof. Marc Madou for his work on the development of electroactive polymer actuators. In 2009 Xevi joined the deMello and Edel groups at Imperial College London as a postdoctoral research associate, where he worked in the development of microfluidic solutions for high-throughput screening applications and ultra-sensitive fluorescence detection methods.
