Balachandra Bandodkar's Biography

Balachandra Bandodkar, General Manager, Alkem Laboratories

Dr. Balachandra Bandodkar received his Ph.D in 1993 from Central College, Bangalore. He began his career at Astra Research Centre Bangalore as a postdoctoral fellow in 1993 and worked as Associate director, medicinal chemistry at AstraZeneca between 2009 and 2012. He completed extended international assignments at AstraZeneca Charnwood, UK during 2003 and at AstraZeneca Boston during 2006 where he underwent extensive training in a variety of areas of drug discovery. After 19 years of service at AstraZeneca where he contributed in many different ways to their drug discovery efforts, Dr Balachandra moved to Alkem Laboratories where he is leading their NCE efforts.
