Sara Talaei's Biography



Sara Talaei, Senior Researcher, Ecole Polytechnique Federale De Lausanne

Sara Talaei is a postdoctoral researcher at Sensors, Actuators and Microsystems Laboratory (SAMLAB) of Prof. Nico de Rooij at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland. Her current research is on development of biosensors and microfluidic cell-cultures for in-vitro analysis of neural cells. She obtained her Ph.D. degree from EPFL in 2013. Her doctoral thesis was on design, fabrication and characterization of novel microengineered analytical tools for cell-based studies with applications in environmental monitoring, pharmacology and neuroscience. She holds an M.Sc. degree in Micro and Nanotechnology and a B.Sc. degree in Biomedical Engineering.

The presentation will give an overview of our recent activities in enzyme based biosensors. This includes in vitro measurement of metabolites as well as in vivo measurement of neurotransmitters and glucose.
