Dominic Hussey's Biography

Dominic Hussey, Senior Account Manager, Cellular Dynamics International Inc

Dominic began his research career by undertaking a Ph.D., primarily as an electrophysiologist, using a variety of techniques on both slice and single cell preparations. He followed this up with a post-doctoral research fellowship investigating the receptor subunit interactions of muscarinic and nicotinic cholinergic cells. Subsequent to this Dominic left the laboratory and entered the commercial world with Upstate Biotechnology where he was responsible for key pharmaceutical accounts and the supply of products and services for the drug discovery process. Further to this Dominic held two more commercial roles, both as Sales Specialists with PerkinElmer and Dharmacon (Thermo Fisher Scientific). After these positions Dominic took on responsibility for managing the sales organisation for the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands for Thermo Fisher Scientific Life Science Research; this included a number of key product lines which were sold through a combination of direct sales and channel partners. Dominic left Thermo Fisher Scientific two years ago, after five years in the management position, and took a role with CDI as a Senior Account Manager responsible for growing the commercial activities in Western and Northern Europe.
