| Complimentary Pre-Event Tour of the Singapore Centre for 3D Printing
20th July 2016 14:00
Attendees of the Bioprinting & 3D Printing in the Life Sciences meeting will have the opportunity to join us on a tour of the largest 3D printing research facility in Southeast Asia - the Singapore Centre for 3D Printing at Nanyang Technological University (NTU).
Over the past 2 years we have seen Singapore rise within the 3D printing industry, as its government has implemented a number of innovative programs that are aimed at integrating and further developing the emerging technology. Singapore is poised to be in the lead internationally in 3D printing, as it has government involved on the ground level of Singapore’s technology growth plans.
The centre was opened in Singapore in 2015 and has received investments totalling S$150 million to further increase Singapore’s capabilities and reach into the rapidly expanding 3D printing market. On-going research at NTU include development of new systems, materials and techniques in biomedical applications (prostheses, implants, devices and tissue scaffolds) using 3DP.
We now offer our attendees the opportunity to tour the centre together with Professor Chua Chee Kai, Executive Director of the Singapore Centre for 3D Printing.
Professor Chua Chee Kai is the world's most-cited scientist in 3D printing and has been involved in 3D Printing (3DP), previously known as Rapid Prototyping (RP), since 1990.
Professor Chua is also the co-author of several books including "Rapid Prototyping: Principles & Applications in Manufacturing", "3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing: Principles and Applications" and the latest book "Bioprinting: Principles and Applications" that was published in December 2014. He is on the editorial advisory board for several scientific journals including The International Journal of Bioprinting.
Come and meet the experts – join us for the third annual Bioprinting & 3D Printing in the Life Sciences meeting and enjoy this complimentary tour of the largest 3D printing research facility in Southeast Asia - the Singapore Centre for 3D Printing.
