Yolanda Cillo Medical Director, Abbott DiagnosticsDr. Cillo is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland Ohio with majors in Biology and English and completed medical school at New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey where she also completed her residency in Orthopaedic Surgery. She practiced Orthopaedic Surgery for 10 years and maintains board certification in Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Cillo completed a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Redlands while in practice. After building a successful consulting business within the orthopaedic industry, she worked for Medtronic Spinal and Biologics with recombinant proteins for bone healing, allograft bone grafts and implantable devices for spinal surgery. She was an Assistant & Founding Professor at UC Merced (‘06-’09). Michelle received her BS and MS from UC Berkeley in Mechanical Engineering (’99 and ’01, respectively) and her PhD in Bioengineering (’05) from UC Berkeley and UCSF. She was the Scientific Founder of Fluxion Biosciences, Shrink Nanotechnologies and Novoheart. Michelle was the recipient of the MIT Technology Review TR35 Award (top 35 innovators under 35), named one of Forbes ’10 Revolutionaries’, and by Fast Company Magazine as one of the '100 Most Creative People in Business'. She was awarded the NIH New Innovator's Award, was named a finalist in the World Technology Awards for Materials, and was named by Marie-Claire magazine as 'Women on Top: Top Scientist'. Prior to joining Roche, Dr. Wright served as Senior Vice President of Health Improvement Strategies for Miraca Life Sciences. He was the Vice President for Product Strategy and Business Development for Resolution Health, a privately held analytics and intervention company serving the managed care market place. Until 2005, Dr. Wright was chairman and CEO of Star Pharmaceuticals, a generic pharmaceutical company he founded in 2002, serving the needs of the urological community. Previously, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Science Officer of Caremark . Dr. Wright also served as Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for AdvancePCS. Dr. Wright graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University. He received his medical doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania and completed his residency in internal medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia.
