Attila Felinger
Professor, University of Pecs

Attila Felinger is a Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Pécs (Hungary), in addition to serving as President of the Hungarian Society for Separation Sciences. He graduated with a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Veszprém (Hungary) and obtained his Ph.D. in chemistry in 1988 from the same university; he also holds a D.Sc. degree from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. His research interests focus on the fundamentals of chromatography including nonlinear, preparative, and analytical separations, as well as the statistical analysis of measurements by analytical chromatography. Prof. Felinger has published some 100 scientific papers and two books, and serves on the Editorial Board of Journal of Chromatography A and LC-GC Europe.

Hans Maurer
Head, Saarland University

Hans H. Maurer is full Professor of Toxicology & Pharmacology at the Faculty of Medicine and at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Saarland University since 1992. His main two areas of research are analytical toxicology and drug metabolism. He has published extensively in both areas (besides over 200 original papers and reviews, handbooks and libraries of GC-MS and LC-MS spectra). He is editorial board member of over 10 international journals, among which are the Journal of Chromatography B, Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry. He was guest editor of several special issues of these journals. Dr. Maurer received the highest scientific awards of two international associations and in 2007, also a Honorary Doctorate (Doctor honoris causa) of the University of Ghent in Belgium for his outstanding scientific achievements. Dr. Maurer was President of the International Association of Therapeutic Drug Monitoring and Clinical Toxicology (2007-2009) and is TIAFT executive board member (2005-2014), and treasurer of the Society of Toxicological and Forensic Chemistry (GTFCh, since 1987).
