Lukas Prantl
Professor/Head, University of Regensburg

Lukas Prantl, M.D., Ph.D. is an internationally known plastic and hand surgeon. He is Professor and Chairman of the Center of Plastic and Aesthetic, Hand- and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Regensburg, Medical Center.
He received his medical degree from the University of Innsbruck (Austria) and Bologna (Italy). After specialisation in General Surgery, Plastic surgery and Hand Surgery at the Technical University of Munich and at the University of Regensburg, he did further training in Plastic Surgery at different famous Universities over the world. He is an active member of numerous national and international societies and president of the German Society for Clinical Hemorheology and Microcirculation.
Dr. Prantl has been the recipient of different prestigious national and international research awards and has been Chair and faculty member of numerous national and international conferences. As an innovative surgeon and scientist he has published more than 100 peer review articles and 10 book chapters. He is a visiting Professor at the University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and a member of the Interdisciplinary Stem Cells Research team. In recent year he focused on the harvesting of stem cells from adipose tissue (ASCs) and the clinical application for tissue regeneration.

Conor Ramsden
Clinical Research Fellow, Institute of Ophthalmology, University College London

Dr Conor Ramsden works as part of the London Project to Cure Blindness at the Institute of Ophthalmology, at University College, London. His main research area is in creating disease models of retinal disease from iPS and developing a source of neural retina for transplantation.

Stephen Strom
Professor, Karolinska Institute

Dr. Strom’s primary interested is in hepatocyte transplants. His laboratory was the first to use allogeneic hepatocyte transplantation to treat patients with liver disease. His current work also includes generating hepatocytes from stem cells for clinical transplants, and his team is engaged in a program to use stem cells from human amnion to treat metabolic liver disease and acute liver failure in the clinic
Dr. Strom is Past President of the Cell Transplant Society and editor for hepatocytes for the Journal Cell Transplantation and others. He is currently, Professor of Cell Transplantation and Regenerative Medicine, Dep. of Laboratory Medicine, Division of Pathology, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm Sweden.

Chair/Head, University Hospital of Wuerzburg

Heike Walles, Professor and Chair of the Department for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine, has years of experience in the automated production of biomaterials. She has been growing liver, skin and other tissues in her laboratory for quite some time now.
