This market report summarizes the results of HTStec’s second industry wide global Pharma and Biotech web-based benchmarking survey on microplate instruments. The objective of the report was to comprehensively document current preferences and satisfaction with microplate instrumentation as well as future needs and requirements. The survey looked at instrument preference, satisfaction and requirements in 2007 and future predictions (2008). Amongst the subjects investigated were factors that currently limit ability to be more productive; level of awareness and interest in adopting QA, audit and tracking related tools; detection liquid handling and sample preparation, plate washing and plate stacking instruments used today; future purchase plans and preferred vendors; interest in accessing microplate imaging applications; factors affecting instrument purchasing decisions including new applications; unmet needs that exist in in microplate instrumentation today.
