In this presentation I will demonstrate the advantageous use of dSTORM for quantitative imaging of synaptic proteins, the study of plasma membrane organization, and the molecular architecture of multiprotein complexes. Finally, I will outline how dSTORM can be used advantageously to improve next generation medical therapies.

Markus Sauer

Markus Sauer is Professor and Chair of the Department of Biotechnology and Biophysics at the Julius Maximilian University Würzburg. His research interests include single-molecule fluorescence spectroscopy and imaging with a particular focus on super-resolution fluorescence imaging by direct stochastic optical reconstruction microscopy (dSTORM) and its applications in neurobiology and immunology. He has published more than 200 journal papers and coordinates several national super-resolution microscopy projects.
