microRNA Analysis: Learn How to Extract and Analyze microRNA with the Appropriate Technique

Held in conjunction with Extracellular Vesicles 2017

27 Sep 2017, at 18:00-21:00 in Cripps Court, Magdalene College, Cambridge, UK

Price:

Mikael Kubista, Professor/Founder, TATAA Biocenter AB

Given the emerging role of microRNAs as a circulating biomarker class and increasing numbers of research efforts and publications in the field, Select Biosciences has partnered with the TATAA Biocenter to provide delegates of the Extracellular Vesicles 2017 Conference with a training course to address the details of microRNA analysis.

Founded in 2001 by pioneers in qPCR, TATAA Biocenter based in Gothenburg, Sweden, is Europe’s leading provider of gene expression profiling services and a prime organizer of hands-on training in quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS).

Scope of this Course

This course introduces microRNA including its variant forms. Methods to extract and purify microRNA and prepare it for analysis including quality control. Methods for microRNA analysis are presented and compared, to learn how to choose the best method for each study. Analysis of microRNA data is also discussed including challenging normalization.

Topics Addressed:

  • microRNA background including metabolism and modifications
  • microRNA extraction methods
  • Quality assessment of microRNA
  • microRNA analysis with microarray 3DGene technology, Nanostring, NGS, RT-qPCR methods
  • How to choose the best method for each study
  • Normalization of microRNA data
  • Data analysis and interpretation

Knowledge about microRNA and molecular analyses is required and this course provides a details 360-degree view with specific guidance on research methods and data analyses.

All course attendees receive electronic copies of the course materials as well as associated reviews for a complete learning experience.

A light sandwich dinner snack will be served to all course attendees.
