Raiah Gottheil's Biography

Raiah Gottheil, Researcher

Raiah Gottheil is a research student working in the field of microfluidics. Her current research
concentrates on microfluidic systems for chemical and biochemical analysis. During the course of her PhD she is developing a microfluidic platform for the sensitive and quantitative detection of pathogens, finding its application in point of care diagnostics. The project calls for close exchange and working with interdisciplinary collaborators and their management. Other research interests include multiphysics simulations especially of electrokinetic phenomena such as dielectrophoresis and electrohydrodynamics. She received her masters degree in biomedical engineering at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen, Germany and a bachelors in engineering at the Avinashiligam University in Coimbatore, India. Throughout her studies and training she has been exposed to various research areas including terahertz imaging, digital image processing and programming of control systems for vehicle platooning.
