Vincenzo Pucci, Principal Scientist, Preclinical Bioanalytical Group

Dr. Vincenzo Pucci is the Principal Scientist of the Preclinical Bioanalytical Group at Merck Research Laboratories in Boston, Massachusetts. He holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Science and MSc and BSc degrees in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology from the University of Bologna (Italy). During his research assistant fellowship years he developed several analytical methods for therapeutic drug monitoring of antipsychotics in collaboration with the Institute for Analytical Chemistry, University of Vienna (Austria) and the Department of Chemistry, University of California in Berkeley. He joined Merck in 2004 as Research Chemist within the DMPK department at IRBM in Italy and from 2009 leads the bioanalytical group of Boston MRL conducting small molecule quantitative bioanalysis of PK and PK/PD samples to support candidate selection as part of drug discovery programs. His major research interests include lab automation, sample preparation methodologies and utilization of novel HPLC and LC-MS/MS approaches in bioanalysis.
