David Soscia's Biography

David Soscia, Biotechnology Engineer

Dave Soscia is a Biotechnology Staff Engineer at LLNL, with over 10 years of experience in developing microfabricated devices for organ-on-a-chip, tissue engineering, and implantable systems. He earned his B.S. in biophysics from University at Buffalo, and his Ph.D. in Nanoscale Engineering from University at Albany. After a year in industry, he joined Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in 2014 as a postdoctoral researcher, and was converted to a staff position in 2016. He currently works on central nervous system and blood brain barrier organ-on-a-chip platforms, focused on creating more complex engineered systems toward an integrated brain-on-a-chip device.
