Dr. C T Ganesh received M.Sc. in 1999 and PhD in 2002 in Horticulture with specialization in Molecular Breeding from University of Agricultural Sciences, GKVK, Bangalore. During his PhD he has worked on ‘molecular breeding of onion at Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR), Bangalore. In 2002 he joined renowned vegetable seed company ‘Namdhari Seeds’ as a Research Scientist and led molecular biology team till 2007 focusing on molecular breeding of wide range of crop plants including vegetables, cereals, fiber and flower crops. In 2007, he moved to ITC when the company started their world class R & D Centre in Hyderabad and currently holds Research Scientist position at ITC’s ‘Life Sciences and Technology Centre’, Bangalore. He is leading molecular breeding programs aligned on yield and quality improvements in tobacco and wheat using contemporary breeding platforms. He has got around 15 publications and a patent from his 13 years of industrial molecular breeding experiences. He has visited different institutes in USA viz., KTRDC, NCSU, Research Triangle Park, Gold Leaf Seed Company on several business related collaborative engagements.
