Anuj Kumar's Biography



Anuj Kumar, Bioinformatician

Anuj is a passionate bioinformaticist with extensive interests on plant and human genomics. From the past few years, Anuj has been involved in functional annotation of cereals genomes especially unannotated wheat genome using different bioinformatics based algorithms. Anuj started his career as a Junior Research Fellow followed by Senior Research Fellowship from world renowned plant geneticists Prof. PK Gupta and Prof. HS Balyan lab at Ch. Charan Singh University (CCSU), Meerut (India). During his occupation at PK Gupta lab, Anuj was nominated twice for early career speaker award organized by International Wheat Genome Sequencing Consortium (IWGSC). Currently, he is serving as a bioinformatician at the Uttarakhand Council for Biotechnology (UCB) based in Dehradun (India) where he is currently working on identification and characterization of miRNA-SSRs and lncRNA-SSRs in model plant Arabidopsis thaliana. Anuj is also a core member of Bioclues.org, an affiliate of International society for Computational Biology (ISCB).
