Focusing on novel NGS technology for genome-wide functional studies, Dr. Pan has established up a series of approaches for single cells on genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics and telomere length analysis. He has also been applying these technologies in combination with other platforms especially NGS in translational medicine and variants of biological systems, with publications on PNAS, Cell, Nature, and so on, and with a series of patents issued. He was interviewed by PNAS Journal Club (2013) and GEN (Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology News) (2015) for his creative technologies. Prior to this position, he worked as a Research Scientist and Enzymology Leader at Molecular Staging Inc. (2000-2004), developed the world-wide used whole genome amplification technology, REPLIg, which was acquired by and now sold by Qiagen.
