Charles Daitch,
CEO
Dr. Daitch has been serving as CEO and Founder of Akonni Biosystems since 2003. He has 28 years experience encompassing a broad range of disciplines including chemistry, biology, biosensors and chemical/biological defense. He directs multidisciplinary teams of scientists and engineers focused on the development of integrated, next-generation diagnostic and biosensor systems. Several products developed under Dr. Daitch’s leadership have been designed for low resource, rugged settings.
Charles has 8 years of R&D experience gained from positions with the NIH/FDA, the USDA, and Sandia National Labs, followed by 20 years of commercial senior management experience (P&L responsibility) gained from positions at PSR, Veridian, HandyLab, CUBRC, and Akonni Biosystems corporations. He has 6 U.S. patents, 24 peer reviewed publications and serves on NIH and NSF review panels. Charles has served as principle investigator on over $40 million in commercial and government grants/ contracts and has successfully led equity financing rounds for Akonni totaling $43 million.
