Xiaomeng started to study biology in year 2007 and was focused during her undergraduate on microbiology and the microbiological environment. In her postgraduate years she developed her passion for biomedicine and investigated the immune response of solid organ transplantation in animal models. During the years as a PhD student and in her Postdoc years in the Transplant and Stem Cell Immunobiology Laboratory, she focused her research on stem cells and mechanisms to induce tolerance during allogeneic transplantations. Also the preventing and the treatment of heart vascular diseases as well as immuno-modulation were in her research focus.
