Christopher Shields's Biography

Christopher Shields, Research Assistant

Christopher Shields, in the Languino laboratory at the Sydney Kimmel Cancer Center at Thomas Jefferson University, has an undergraduate degree in physics. Christopher is studying the mechanisms mediated by extracellular vesicles that promote progression from prostate cancer to castrate-resistant prostate cancer to neuroendocrine prostate cancer, and whether the progression can be inhibited. Christopher is working alongside Dr. Quaglia, a post-doc fellow, focusing on alphaVbeta3 integrin and NgR2, identifying potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets in vivo and in vitro for the highly aggressive neuroendocrine prostate cancer.
