Matthew MSc CChem FRSC has over 30 years’ experience leading strategic projects and developing practical solutions to a wide range of food safety, quality and authenticity issues. This has included research, consultancy and advice to Government, the world-wide agri-food industry and international organisations such as the European Commission and the European Food Safety Authority. During his career he worked as senior analytical chemist responsible for the development and direction of 150+ inter-disciplinary scientists and was part of the core team who in 2016 won the new agri-tech Centre for Innovation Excellence in Livestock (http://www.cielivestock.co.uk/). Matthew is therefore fully aware of the many challenges and stresses being faced by the food industry to ensure a sustainable food supply which also meets consumer expectations and needs (e.g. quality, taste, safety and nutrition). Matthew has published over 75 scientific papers in peer reviewed journals.
