Ozlem Yavas,
PhD Student,
ICFO-Institute of Photonic Sciences
Ozlem Yavas is a PhD student in Plasmon Nano-Optics group led by Romain Quidant at ICFO, the Institute of Photonics Sciences. She is currently working on developing microfluidic platforms integrated with optical sensors for on-chip real-time detection of cancer markers and DNA. She has obtained her BSc degree in physics from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey in 2010. She moved to Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey to get her MSc degree in physics in 2012, based on her work on plasmonic interferometer-based sensors. After spending a year in ETH Zurich, working on microfluidic systems for single cell analysis and microfluidic cell culture platforms, she moved to ICFO, Barcelona to pursue her PhD in 2014, with the prestigious LaCaixa, Severo Ochoa PhD Fellowship.
