V V Kulkarni, Director

Dr. V. V. Kulkarni, Director, National Research Centre on Meat, Hyderabad has professional experience of about 25 years in the major field of meat science. Dr.V.V.Kulkarni is associated with various research projects in meat science and technology and has good exposure in fresh meat technology, development of newer products, preservation technologies and quality and safety issues of meat and meat products. He also has worked in rendering and efficiently utilizing slaughterhouse by-products. He is also recipient of the prestigious Best teacher award instituted by Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Chennai. He was honoured by a citation by the Alumni Association of Bombay veterinary College, Parel, Mumbai. He has published about 41research articles, published 11 books and guided PG students. Dr.Kulkarni is a member of Maharashtra Veterinary and Fisheries University, Nagpur and various other national committees. He is a chairman of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) on slaughterhouse and meat industry sectional committee (FAD 18). He is a president of Indian Meat Science Association
