OverviewFunctional 3D cell culture, organoids and spheroids require muti-layered experimental design, fabrication methods and optimized conditioning. One of the biggest indicators of success for 3D cell culture modeling are the micro-mechanical cues produced by individual cells, cell clusters, spheroids, and complex tissues. The use of mechanical screening instruments, combined with advanced imaging and environmental controls, may significantly accelerate our understanding of cell & tissue microenvironments and success factors.
In this webinar, we will first introduce the Pavone Nanoindentation Platform, a nondestructive testing instrument that measures the stiffness & viscoelasticity of LIVE cells, organoids and tissues. The device features on-board brightfield/ phase-contrast microscopy and fluorescence, as well as environmental inputs including temperature, humidity and CO2 controls. We will highlight how its features can bring value to the 3D cell culture space, from the formulation of spheroids to the design of complex organoid structures in a LIVE environment. We will then focus on several published cases to exemplify how this technology is currently helping researchers.
